What Causes Chest Pain In Left Pectoral After Double Bypass Surgery

i have had this problem since 5 months after double bi pass surgery , a chest pain alongside of my left pectoral . I have been in the hospital numerous times 7 x this year alone . They put me in observgation run test ( x-ray, cat scan , stress tes, eco ) etc. Luckily they say it isnt my heart . I cannot burp, no longer does soda or carbonated water work, nor does gas x. I have seen my pulmanologist , who even though i smoke says i have mild copd and for a person smoking 30 years my lungs are actually good. gateronoligist has done 2 endoscopys and a colonoscopy wiothin the past 2 years . They see nothing . To relieve the pain , i drink a few beers , it takes the pain away for 3 days but then comes back, it is the only thing that relieves the pain . I dont want to drink because i am a diabetic as well. The problem is the pain goes away for a few days, but then i get the dry heaves and cough out phlem , which i do only after i feel like i am choking . The pains in the chest i get are sharp and since so close to my heart , i rush to the hospital. In the same year before my double bi pass, i was on a respirator for 9 days with conjestive heart failure, so i dont take chances

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Recurrent chest pain with multiple negative evaluation at ER so far as cardiac causes are concerned, indicate non pathological issue. The major concern seems to be related to panic disorder and I would require a detailed evaluation with expert psychologist in this regard rather than cardiologist visit on and off without any cure of the episodes.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
