What Causes Chest Pain, Lightheadedness And Tiredness When Diagnosed With Arrhythmia?
Hi, i am a reasonably fit 60yr old, slightly overweight at present. i generally walk 5-7kms 5 days a week. I have arythmia s and had a stress test 18mths ago which was NAD Recently i have experienced some chest pain when walking and on one occassion i felt light headed and had to rest for a brief period while walking. Also feeling very tired lately
Hello, Thanks for posting in HCM. Whenever body is put to exertion the heart beats faster to cope with supplying more blood to muscles of body hence its rythm increases. If you already have history of arrhythmia then increase in heart rate causes heart to erratically send impulse and thus cause heart to go in arrhythmia. This triggers your symtpoms like chest pain , lightheadedness, tiredness as heart is unable to meet the demand and cause decreased blood supply to brain and lungs. As you have done your stress test 18 months ago i would advice you to undergo repeat stress test and consult your cardiologist regarding the amount of exercise you can do. I hope i have answered your query well. Thank you
