What Causes Chest Pain Radiating To Back And Neck After Completing The Treatment For TB?
Hi, My name is Margaret, I m from Papua New Guinea, a nurse by profession and works full time in the HIV clinic. I contracted TB from my clients and was treated for TB cavity. completed my treatment in March this year but I m still experiencing chest pain radiating to my back and my neck all the time. What could be the possible course of the pain?
The pain in this region may need further tests in order to determine its origin (possible bulging disk in the cervical vertebral column), acid reflux or a cardiac issue. For this reason, I recommend performing some tests: - A resting ECG - A chest X-ray study - Inflammation tests (complete blood count, PCR, ESR) - A cervical spine X-ray study
Further tests (an exercise cardiac stress test, a cervico / thoracic spine MRI or fibro-gastroscopy) may be needed.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Ilir Sharka, Cardiologist
