By your history and description, possibility of pneumothorax (air in th lungs) is more in the past.
And pneumothorax can recur again especially when patient is active smoker.
Pneumothorax can cause similar kind of
chest pain.
So we should definitely rule out
recurrent pneumothorax in your case.
So better to
consult pulmonologist and get done clinical examination of respiratory system and chest x ray.
Chest x ray is must for the diagnosis of pneumothorax.
You may need ICD (intercostal
drainage) insertion for pneumothorax. First of all, quit
smoking as soon as possible, it is not a good habit.
Don't worry, you will be alright. Consult pulmonologist and discuss all these.
