What Causes Chest Pain, Sore Throat And Severe Cough?

I have been coughing up mucous but my chest hurts when I cough. I have a sever sore throat as well. The congestion etc. has been going on for several weeks. Could I have pneumonia? When I was seen several weeks ago at a minute clinic they told me I had a virus and that bronchitis is also a virus so no antibiotics were prescribed.

As per your complain severe cough along with hurting chest while coughing and sore throat can be due to cae like Chronic severe upper respiratory tract infection, Bronchitis, lung infection etc..
You can consult a Pulmonologist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like sputum culture, throat swab culture and chest x ray can help in diagnosis and treatment can be planned accordingly..
There can be a secondary bacterial infection and you can be advised Antibiotics, anti inflammatory painkiller, anti allergics like Benadryl or Levocetrizine, decongestant like Phenylephrine, mucolytics like Ambroxol and cough expectorant containing Guaifenesin and Dextromethorphan..
Do warm saline gargles and steam inhalation.
Sucking throat lozenges can help..
Chew Vitamin C pellet..
Avoid spicy and chilled foods..
Sip on warm water and take a soft diet..
