What Causes Chest Pain That Radiates To The Stomach?
I have had pain off and on for a couple of weeks that radiates in the chest and into the stomach. It is not a constant or a extreme pain, however it is troubling. My bp has also been effected. Bp is not horrible, but I wonder if this could be gall bladder. I am a 56 year old female
It looks like you have gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), it causes symptoms like chest pain, burning sensation in the chest or difficulty in swallowing. Get physically examined & evaluated, get all investigations done. This is the non-cardiac cause of chest pain. You can take antacids, H2 receptor blockers (Cimetidine) & PPI's. They are effective in relieving the discomfort.
You can also get your CBC, Urinalysis, ECG, echocardiography, stress & lipid function tests done to rule out any cardiac factor that can cause chest pain. Get evaluated & treated. Maintain optimum weight, avoid addictions if any, eat home made healthy food & do regular exercises.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K,
