Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I had a divin ci laparoscopic surgery tues. Today I dont feel so good .. now with in the last half hour when I take a deep breath it hurts in my chest straight to my back. mostly on the left side. I don t really feel pressure just hurts to take a deep breath .. feels like a knife going right through me. not coughing up blood. no jaw or left arm pain. could it just be stress because I m sore from surgery.
I wish to find out the indication of your surgery. Chest pain is common after surgery, especially long surgeries or surgeries that require long recovery periods.
Possible causes may include: pneumonia, heartburns or gastritis. I will suggest you inform your doctor. If pain of gastric origin an antacid/proton pump inhibitor will help.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Mbuomboh Veranso
