What Causes Chest Pain Upon Deep Breathing?

Hello i am a 22 almost 23 year old female no medical history and no allergies as i know of. For the past couple weeks I ve been waking up with a sore chest. No shortness of breath just can t take really deep breaths without becoming painful. The pain is behind the sternum and a little left from it as well . It only seems to happen after sleeping or laying down. Should i be concerned and go seek medical attention

Hi,

I don't think you should worry. The pain you said more looks like you have some acid reflux that causes your food pipe to become sore. This is specifically true if it occurs on lying flat.

As there is no shortness of breath or fainting, this is least likely to be any serious pain.

You should use some. Antacid and avoid spicy foods. Avoid late time meals i.e. at least 2 hours before bedtime. Hopes this relieves your pain. If not you may need to see your doctor then.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
