Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Occasionally I have trouble swallowing my food I get a sharp pain in my chest and feel like I can breathe this has been happening off and on for about a year so I always chew my food well and take small bites but it is flailing up now with every meal.
May I know how old you are? What type of pain do you feel - burning or spastic? Burning pain is suggestive of esophagitis most probably due to acid reflux.
It requires proton pump inhibitor (omeprazole) therapy for 10 to 14 days, along with restriction of spicy and oily foods. If it is spastic pain take Dicyclomine tablet 12 hourly for temporary pain relief.
