What Causes Chest Pain While Breathing And Laughing?

Hey my boyfriend has really bad chest/heart pains when he breathes in or laughs. He has a heart condition called Pericarditis but when those heart pains happen it s only for a short amount of time. Could you tell me what it could be? Should we go to the hospital?

The chest is a closed chamber called the thoracic cavity. When one laughs the pressures in the chest cavity are changed. Abrupt changes in this pressure will cause a squeeze and release effect that will cause pain. Going to hospital is important because assesment and check up is important.
