What Causes Chest Pain While Having High BP And Sinus Tachycardia?
Hi there. I am currently suffering from chest pain (feels like brusing). I went into the doctor yesterday and they did an ECG and found nothing abnormal (except I have high BP and sinus tachycardia). They put me on metoprolol. But I still am today experiencing that chest pain. What do you think it is?
Thank you for posting your question. I can understand your concern. First of all your chest pain may be due to other causes.Let me give you an interesting fact. 42% of chest pain without myocardial infarction (which obviously is picked up by ECG) occurs due to Gastroesophageal causes like peptic ucer.
An ECG may fail to pick up an ischaemic pain. You may need a stress ECG or stress ECHO . Metoprolol is okay for sinus tachycardia and the high BP. I would suggest you to check your blood pressure regularly. Do not worry much. Consult a cardiologist and get the tests done. Have a nice day
