What Causes Chest Pain While Suffering From Hypertension?
My husband is a 52 year old white male with high blood pressure. He s on 3 medications for it. He complains of his chest hurting right above his heart almost his shoulder. Lately his pulse has been 116. Not a drinker or a smoker. He does have osteoporosis. What could be causing the pain and such a high pulse ? My husbands body no longer produces testasarone?
complaint:hypertensive with chest pain and increased heart rate
can be due to the following reasons in the following order:
1.reduced blood supply to heart-he will need to consult in accident and emergency to rule this out(it is done by taking a blood test called as quantitative troponin I test and ECG.(electro cardio gram)
2.some of the medications for blood pressure can caused increased Herat rate too.
3.thereafter we need to see other causes of increased heart rate like anaemia, vitamin deficiency.
hope this helps.
