Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am 20 years old, overweight, no known diabetes but have anxiety and depression. I am currently experiencing significant chest pain not associated with breathing, heartbeat feels loud and maybe irregular, nausea, dizziness. Unlike anxiety. The entire day today ive been nauseous and fatigued, general body pain and malaise. Had an early morning headache that improved with excedrin migraine and is gone now. What is suggested course of action?
General & Family Physician, Dr. Nishad BN's Response
Hi Thank you for asking HCM. I have gone through your query. Your problem can be related to anxiety. But it is better to have an ecg and stress test to rule out heart problems. Deep breathing exercises will be helpful to relieve anxiety ,stress and related symptoms. Sit relaxed and take deep breaths. You can repeat a couple of times daily. Taking a short course of anxiolytics or betablocker will be helpful also. If this is not helping then a counselling with psychologist should be done.
Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear. Thanks.
