What Causes Chest Pain?

Why does my chest hurt so bad? It feels like my heart pounds really hard. It happens when I workout or run, sometimes when I wake up, and sometimes just at random. It also happens when I do sexual activity with my loved one. It kind of feels like I m not getting enough blood flow.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi
Thank you for asking HCM.
I have gone through your query. Pounding heart sounds (palpitation) can occur in case of problems like anemia or hypothyroidism also. So hemoglobin count and thyroid profile test should be done to rule out that. Blood pressure level should be checked and ECG should be taken also to rule out hypertension and cardiac problems respectively. Avoid cafienated drinks, coffee and smoking. If all these are clear then it can be due to anxiety. In such case stress relaxing exercises and short course anxiolytics will be helpful. If that is not helping then small dose betablocker will be helpful.
Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear.
Thanks.
