Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I had chest pain last week for 6 days. On the first day it was ruled to be general chest pain. It came back yesterday and I am miserable. I m afraid to see a dr because they already said it was nothing. But nothing doesn t cause extreme pain. What would cause this to happen again so quickly and how can I get relief?
Hi, i do care for your concern. recurrent chest pain is most commonly caused by heatburns, caused due to acidity, which is most common in center of chest. However taking an ECG will rule out cardiac cause, but your previous visit has nothing to mention about it and hence there is little worry about it. i would advise To start on antacid such as omiperazole and continuing it for 3 weeks, would help a lot. Avoid spicy food and have food at appropriate time which will add to the help. even then pain persist then complete evaluation of cardiac and gastrointestinal tract must be done. Hope I have answered your question. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help.
