Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
HI my name is Chris and I need your advice on having an aorta heart valve replaced. What type is best for a man with fairly good health, I have had two stints and my doctor is telling me my aorta vale is leaking slightly and is narrowing is why I am having chest pains.
Aortic stenosis may produce symptoms like chest pain. Symptoms of aortic stenosis may include: Chest pain (angina), pressure or tightness. Aortic stenosis progress and cause increasing problems. The wall of the left ventricle of heart may also show muscular thickening because the ventricle must work harder to pump adequate amount of blood through the narrow valve opening into the aorta, which in turn may cause heart failure and produce symptoms like chest pain.
Early treatment can help to reverse or slow down the progress of this disease. Even if no symptoms are present, it may be advisable to proceed with treatment or repairs aortic valve. Possible treatments may include valve repair or valve replacement.
Follow-up from the Cardiovascular surgeons doctor will tell you better which solution may be right for you.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Enton Dore,
General & Family Physician
