Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, feeling relatively mild stabbing pain occasion in chest over last 4 days. At rest. Irritating but not what I d describe as pain. Age 42, hypertension controlled by meds. No dizziness, no breathlessness, otherwise feeling great. No obvious link to what I ve eaten. Any ideas?
I am sorry for the chest pain you are feeling at your age 42.
You say to take meds to control hypertension. Taking this into account and the present chest pain you are feeling, I want to make sure we are not dealing with a cardiovascular event.
Immediate cardiac check up is highly recommended and immediate consultation with cardiologist : - ECG - echocardiogram - stress test - chest x-ray
If nothing wrong is found with your cardiovascular system, then, we can conclude it is a muscular skeletal issue (after reviewing X-ray) or hyperacidity (if you also feeling heartburn, bloating or any other GI symptom).
In case of hyperacidity, I advise to: - have your meals regularly - take antacids after meal or when you feel pain chest - take probiotics to stabilize intestinal flora
Hope this helps.
