I'm a 25yo male. I have had chest pains mostly on the left hand side (slightly below the nipple area, and around the same height but around the side in the armpit region). I have had an ECG, stress echo, chest X-Ray and a blood test all of which have come up with no issues. The pains don't seem to be related to anything I can think of and don't worsen with exercise. Pains range from short stabbing pains to pains mostly like a muscle ache. I've had them on and off for over 6 months now. I am not a smoker or a drinker and am not overweight or unfit. I don't exercise regularly but I can still do long distance running without too much difficulty. The pains are starting to wear me down mentally and would very much appreciate another opinion as to what this could be.
Hello, What you're describing doesn't seem to be pain of cardiac origin. Especially that you had all the tests done. What is most common in your case is muscular pain or pain originating from the pleura or pericardium (membranes surrounding the heart and lung). This is nothing serious about it and it will usually go by itself. It does however cause nasty pain and may last for months. Pain killers usually do the trick but what is best is to try and ignore the pain and it will eventually subside. Try not to think to muck about it as the psychological effects of anxiety sometimes kick in and keep you preoccupied and increase your awareness of the pain. If it persists seek medical advice
