What Causes Chest Pressure And Pain On The Left Shoulder Blade?

Last week I was having chest pressure and pain on my left shoulder blade, it has subsided then yesterday I started to have pain in my right arm starting at the arm pit and it seemed to travel in a line down my arm. I woke up today with a bruise the travels along the line of pain. Should I be concerned?

Hi,

We will try to help you in the best way possible. First of all it's sad to know what you had been going through lately.

Based on the history you have shared, it can be due to cervical spondylosis but bruise needs work up with coagulation profile and blood counts especially platelets monitoring.

Meanwhile, OTC analgesics like Acetaminophen can be used. Nerve pain suppressants like gabapentin may also be needed. If pain persists neck radiograph and neurosurgical evaluation may be needed.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Saddiq Ulabidin, General & Family Physician
