What Causes Chest Tightness And Wheezing?

Hello,

I have chest tightness, when I breathe heavily it sounds wheezy and I cough.

When I lie down and cough it makes a popping/cracking sound after for a while.

Nose is not blocked so I wouldn't call it a cold but I am feeling tired with a dull head and lack of appetite.

Any advice? Thanks.

Hello dear, thanks for your question on HCM.
I can understand your situation and problem.
In my opinion you are having bronchitis.
Your all symptoms like chest tightness and wheezing are seen in bronchitis.
So we need to first rule of bronchitis.
So consult pulmonologist and get done
1. Clinical examination of respiratory system.
2. Chest x ray.
3. PFT ( pulmonary function test ).
Chest x ray is needed to rule out lung infection.
PFT is needed to rule out bronchitis.
It will also tell you about severity of the disease. And treatment of bronchitis is based on severity only.
You may need inhaled bronchodilators and antihistamine drug.
So consult pulmonologist and first diagnose yourself and then start appropriate treatment.
