What Causes Chest Tightness While On Nitrofurantoin And Cefuroxime?

hello, i am taking nitrofurantoin twice a day and taking cefuroxime after urodynamic proceedure which caused me symptoms like urgency and frequency urinating and it never end , it only happened after the proceedure, and the doctor thought i couid have infectio without checking my urine first. now after taking this fo about five days, i feel that my chest is so tight and my heart beating so fast, i wonder if its side effects of the medication, and I am still urinating so much , they were supposed to help to reduce that? any advice?

Hi,

So far as feeling of tightness of chest and increased heart beats are concerned, although there may be several reasons, in your case it may be,most probably due to gastritic symptoms which are caused by both of these medicines.

So in that case,one capsule of Vizylac once daily will help. As your primary symptoms remain the same even after taking these antibiotics, I will suggest to get a Urine culture and sensitivity test done and then, if possible, get back to us again or try talk to your doctor.
