Hi, I just returned from vacation in cancun,. I flew back Friday and felt fine, but developed chills and sweats overnight into Saturday. Then I started having explosive diarrhea on Saturday. I haven t really been able to eat, and have to force fluids. I m still having diarrhea and my current temp is 101.3. I m still having chills but not so much swears. Im supposed to go back to work tomorrow is that advisable. I haven t taken any medicine, OTC or other
Hi. Sorry to hear about your problem. Travellers diarrhea is not an uncommon event . But fever not uaually a symptom of travellers diarrhea. So keeping in view further points in history ( abdominal complaints associated with high grade fever ) am suspecting it to be enteric fever(typhoid). so my advice at the moment is to visit a physician near you to get investigated for confirmation of diagnosis ( typhidot, widal, stool examination, stool culture and CBC ) and get a prescription of appropriate antibiotics. Additionally you may need some antipyretics . Wishing you best of health. Regards.
