What Causes Chills Only In The Lower Part Of The Body?

Hi, my father is 68 years old. He has gouty arthritis and solitary liver secondary. He has COPD also. He is taking allopurinol and prednisone. He has low blood pressure 91/55. Now his uppupper part of the body sweats and the legs below the knees are cold. I would like to know what is the cause of his condition. Thank you very much.

Hi,
Thanks for asking.
Based on your query, my opinion is as follows.
1. Reduced circulation due to peripheral vascular disease below knee could be the cause of cold feeling.
2. Above knee, sweating may be related to clothing and environment or possible paraneoplastic syndromes. Need to have good hydration to avoid further hypotension. Night sweats can also cause similar symptoms secondary to associated malignancy. Liver biopsy, could be helpful in identifying primary malignancy.
3. Need a get a doppler or a arteriography of the legs to evaluate for peripheral vascular disease. He needs to improve hydration
4. Meet your doctor for tests.
Hope it helps.
Any further queries, happy to help again.
