Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
my wife, age 55 underwent lumbar laminectomy three weeks ago, has been on Percocet and Valium. Pain has been subsiding but she feels currently weak with little appetite and the sensation of cold ( she is covered with a blanket right now) despite the fact that the room temperature is 76 degrees F.
Hello , Welcome to healthcaremagic.com and thanks for sharing your concern with us. Abrupt discontinuation of pain medicine and muscle relaxants can sometime cause episode of chills in post lumbar laminectomy . Every case who shows any symptom like fever AND/OR chills AND/OR neck stiffness should contact their healthcare providers straight away as it can be a sign of infection also which should be ruled out. I would suggest you to contact your healthcare providers straight away . I wish you good health. Best Regards, DR.S.TOMAR
