What Causes Chlorine Smell While Sneezing?

I have really bad allergies, I am allergic to everything. My question is this. When i go thru a sneezing fit, i smell chlorine. What is that?? My sinuses dont feel full due to sinusitis I have read it can mean seizure activities too, I have seizures, meds keep controlled, and i dont feel ANY seizure activity at all, and I do usually know if i am gonna have one. This happens frequently, and I am just curious as to why the chlorine smell.

Hello,

I would explain that the chlorine smell could be an abnormal reaction of the nasal mucosa due to sneezing and the trauma related to sneezing.

Many persons experience a strange smell after sneezing. I don't think that this is anything serious or related to seizures. So, just relax and don't worry about it.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Ilir Sharka
