Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have had a chlorine taste in my mouth for about 3 months now. IT isn t a consistent taste but comes and goes throughout the day. I Currently have clear sinus drainage but I don t always have drainage the same time Ihave the chlorine taste. Do you have any idea why I could be having the chlorine taste?
As per your complain chlorine taste in mouth can be due to a number of causes like post nasal drip, acid reflux, side effects of medicines, sinus infection, upper respiratory tact infection, oral or dental infections etc..
As it is chronic in nature and occurring since 3 months, I would suggest you to consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations as per suspected cause can help in diagnosis and treated accordingly..
As of now you should do warm saline gargles, drink plenty of water, chew flavoured sugarfree chewing gums and also maintain a good oral hygiene..
Hope this helps..
Thanks and regards.
