What Causes Choking Sensation After A Tonsillectomy?
I had a tonsillectomy this morning. I am 23 years old if that matters. I tried to sleep about an hour after taking my last dose of pain meds. I woke up seeming to not remembering to breath or possibly choking, leaning forward helped a lot, and slight dizziness. Could this be a result of the medication (a generic Percocet), caused by bleeding, or could it have been a panic attack?
I had gone through your question and understand your concerns.
12 hours, post tonsillectomy, do get choking or difficulty in throat and dizziness due to endotracheal intubation under general anesthesia. it's not due to Percocet.it takes time.
all the best, take care.
