What Causes Choking Sensation And Discomfort In The Throat?
Why do I always feel like I am choking? I can still swallow and breathe, but I can t stand anything against my throat. Even my tongue feels like it is blocking my throat. Sometimes, when I swallow, it feels like the food gets stuck just below the collarbone area, but I can still breathe.
Understanding your concern. As per you have symptoms of choking sensation and discomfort in the throat which could be due to granular pharyngitis. It could be due to formation of lump, gastroesophageal reflux disease and contraction of muscle sphincters.
Need not to worry. I would suggest you to do warm saline gargles 2-3 times a day. You should avoid heavy and spicy food specially at night and eat small and frequent meals. You should do betadine gargles as well. Consult ENT specialist for proper examination . Doctor may order test like blood test , throat swab test , and CT scan. Doctor may prescribe antibiotics course, anti inflammatory medications or refer you to gastroenterologist .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
