What Causes Choking Sensation In The Throat After Taking Doxycycline?
Hi.I took doxycycline last night and immediately went to bed...I woke up several times during the night feeling that the pill is stuck in my oesophagus....and the feeling is not going away....when ever I swallow food or any liquid it feels that it something is stuck and there is no passage way for the food to pass
This might be due to ulceration in esophagus which is very common after using doxycycline especially in empty stomach and if you lie down immediately after taking doxycycline. Advice 1. Omeprazole 20 mg per oral empty stomach in the morning for 10 days 2. Avoid smoking and alcohol 3. Do not eat heavily at a time. Divide your meals into smaller portions and eat them frequently during the day 4. Raise the head of your bed 5. Avoid spicy foods, fatty foods, mint, chocolate, tomato-based foods, coffee, and citrus fruits I hope this information will help you. I will be happy if you ask another question Thank
