Hi Throat infection even though mostly caused by viruses and may require only symptomatic management should not be neglected especially when the symptoms persist for long.I always like to think of the worst possible cause of a problem and eliminate than neglect to get something serious. What you describe sounds like an Acute Rheumatic fever even though a throat infection can coincidentally occur with some other medical condition that can give you joint manifestations.I will advise you see a Doctor for a throat swap culture .I feel pharyngitis due to group A streptococcus should be eliminated as soon as possible so as to prevent more serious evolution. This can only be done by a Doctor.Treatment however is easy if started in time with good outcome. Hope my answer will help you Best regards
