What Causes Choking Sensation In Throat While Eating?

I have had an issue lately seems to happen when eating. Only thing in common when it happens is that I am eating something with bread. Started initially with waffles, figured that maybe they were just to doughy. Haven't had one I about 6-8 mos but recently a biscut and just today I was eating a McDonalds plain hamburger. I feel like I am chocking can't breath have to basically throw it up to clear it. I don't feel like I am eating any differently I chew my food well. Is there something that this might be a symptom of the I should have checked out

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of choking sensation in throat while eating which are pointing towards upper respiratory tract infection , esophagitis , esophageal web or ring , tonsillitis , infection can be caused by bacterial or viral infection. For now continue doing gargles and drink one spoon of honey mix with glass of lukewarm water. You should take steam inhalation along with vaporizers. Avoid hot, sharp , spicy food. I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist for proper examination . Doctor may order test like viral culture test , throat swab test and blood test to confirm the diagnosis and rule out causes. you should go for get laryngoscopy as well. Doctor may prescribe antibacterial amoxicillin or anti viral acyclovir depending upon the diagnosis along with decongestants. Doctor may refer you to gastroenterologist for esophagus problem , who may recommend surgery to remove obstacle .
