Understanding your concern. As per your query you have choking up on saliva in sleep .Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like foreign body entrapment, lump in throat and problems related to respiratory system . I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist once and get it examined. You should avoid hot, sharp and spicy foods. Take cough expectorants. You should take anti inflammatory medication such as Levocetrizine. You should use throat lozenges and go rinses with warm saline water. You should take antibiotics such as Levofloxacin or Azithromycin for 5-7 days. You should Chew a Vitamin C pellet. Take decongestants and mucolytic agents. You should get blood test done. You should get an x ray of the chest and pulmonary function tests done as well to know the exact extent of infection and can start treatment accordingly. The symptoms can also occur due to acid reflux or dental infection , both of which can lead to hypersalivation and cause chocking. So also consult gastroenterologist and dentist if condition persist . Gargle with water rinses along with pinch of salt added in it.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
