What Causes Chronic Abdominal Cramps During Menstruation While On Implanon?

MI ve the implanon bar three years. Due for removal next week. Ive always had sporadic periods ( twice a month for three to four days ) light and generally pain free. Yesterday I started again but bad pains in lower left side. Getting worse and worse today with shakes earlier in the day and a lot of clotting. Something I ve never really had. Should I be concerned?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Use of IMPLANON may also increase your chance of serious blood clots, especially if you have other risk factors, such as smoking. Also possible fibroid uterus or polyps or endometriosis or PID with blood clots. Please consult your treating doctor she will examine and do ultrasound and treat you accordingly , till then you may use Tranexemic acid and Mefenamic acid combination for heavy bleed.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
