What Causes Chronic Abdominal Pain?

Hi. This time Last yr I had severe abdominal pain. Investigations found nothing (at first they thought Ibs, bladder issues then endometriosis). In December time the pain subsided and completely left in Feb so investigations stopped. They concluded endometriosis but didn t want to perform an op due to my age and the risks of any complications. The pain has come back now so was wondering if abdominal pain can be seasonal and the cause for such? Thank you

Hello,

Pain abdomen can be due to many reasons and the first thing to get done is ultrasound whole abdomen. As the pain is recurring now, I would suggest you get USG abdomen done along with routine blood tests like CBC, LFT, KFT and urine routine and microscopic examination.

Once the results come, visit your doctor with your all medical history. The doctor will suggest you further management after seeing the investigation results, if required he might ask you to get few more diagnostic tests done. As they have concluded it to be endometriosis previously and if there is a progression in the condition seen, further treatment options will be decided by your doctor and it can be a surgical procedure depending on your current state. Till then he will advice you appropriate medicines for pain management.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
