What Causes Chronic Cough After A Ureteroscopy?

I had two recent ureteroscopies (one January 6 and the second February 1). Post op after January surgery went well in that I did not develop any coughing, difficulty breathing at any time, similar symptoms, etc. However, after the February 1 surgery, I have had a chronic cough that starts mid-late afternoon and goes into the evening. I do not bring anything up, but I feel warm (don t think a full blown fever) and I cough to the point where my head feels like it is going to explode. Any suggestions?

Hello,

It is not related to scopy.

As a first line management, you can take expectorant cough syrups for symptomatic relief.

If symptoms persist you can consult a physician and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
