Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My husband has had a cough for a couple of months, which gets worse after he eats. He s been to the doctor several times, and has been given several allergy medications but I don t think it s allergies. He has been diagnosed with Gerd when he left the military and takes medication for acid reflex often. Could we be missing something here? He went to the doctor and was given more of the same medicine that is not helping and told that they will refer him to an allergist next.
Possible issue with diaphragm irritation after the food intake, which strongly co relates with underlying GERD. Hiatus hernia and other associated conditions have to be ruled out via upper GI endoscopy.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
