What Causes Chronic Cough After Receiving An Iron Infusion?
I have been in hospital twice in the past four weeks for quite bad pneumonia. I was given an infusion of iron as my level was only 3. I came home but haven t stopped bleeding like a heavy period. I sm 65 and went back on HRT 3 months ago. This is the first time I have bled. But I want to pass out every time I stand up. I can t make my bed unless I lie down 3-4 times I don t understand what is happening to me. I still have a very heavy cough but no wheezing. i do not have the high temps and sweating anymore.just want to pass out all the time. Thankyou for listening. I am distressed.

General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi,
With profuse bleeding & such a low hb% you need an ER treatment... as management of your cough, bleeding & low Hb% all need to be managed at the same time.
You would get combined care of an expert gynecologist & physician in a hospital only. Please go to the ER/multispeciality hospital with the advice of your treating doctor.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Vasudha Jayant Athavale,
