General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I think you might have misused the muscles of the throat while severe coughing. This might have caused laceration of the blood vessels in the throat explaining the blood you split a few days later.

I'd recommend to consult with an ENT specialist and to check your throat to understand what is happening there. Meanwhile, keep good oral hygiene. Apply oral antiseptic medications.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Albana Sejdini, General & Family Physician
