What Causes Chronic Cough And Breathing Difficulty?

Hi, I have been coughing for just over a week with the beginning being very light but now has moved on more aggressive towards my chest. its pretty difficult to breathe at times as I feel like I m not inhaling a lot of air into my lungs. I also cough out mucus and whilst I m asleep or just about drifting to sleep I moan. I ve been told by several house members its annoying and causes them to miss out on their sleep. I don t know what to do.

You haven't mentioned that you are a smoker or not. Its very important to know the smoking history in case of chronic cough. If you smoke, stop it immediately. Then do an X-ray chest ( PA view) along with Sputum test for Tuberculosis. And start a 14 days course of antibiotics along with cough syrup (mucolytic) and antihistaminics.
