I have a horrible cough that produces very little, if at all. No fever or body aches, but occasional chills/shakes. Sleeping is very difficult. As soon as I lay down I can feel my chest start to percolate (no other term comes to mind) with congestion. It actually makes a high-pitched wheezing noise. No amount of hard coughing relieves this. I had bronchitis as a child, and I m prone to allergies - airborne. I am a 61 year old male.

Hi, sorry for your sufferings, You are sufferings from chronic bronchitis. my openion ,you should be rule out about asthma also. actually continuous 3 month bronchitis like symptom means chronic bronchitis. You are sensitive to allergen, so you should try to avaoid allergen as much possible. You should consult to a chest physician regarding: 1.Whizeeing symptom and use of medication for this. 2.anti allergic medication 3.to rule out any other lung disease. 4.any prophylactic medication. thanks
