Hello,
Your brother is suffering from
chronic cough and
fainting spells due to cough. He is having the relapsing symptoms. He also has a laceration at the back of the head due to falling. Chronic cough is commonly indicative of chronic upper
respiratory tract infection that has not been treated, pneumonia, bronchitis, COPD, lung cancer, etc.
Fainting spells occur due to dehydration, hypotension,
hypoglycemia, temporary feeling of weakness, etc. He is suggested to get clinically examined by a GP, get chest X-ray, CT, MRI, done. He will be accordingly treated with antibiotics, analgesics, etc.
He should also get his
lipid profile, stress test, EKG done to detect any coronary artery disease that may be causing him fainting spells. He should be examined for any internal injury, blunt injury or any type of bleeding in the head after the fall. The treatment would depend on the detected pathology. He should stay away from addictions if any.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
