What Causes Chronic Cough And Shortness Of Breath?
When I exhale I have a dry airy type of cough which leads to a shortness of breath. I have never smoked. I do not have a history of asthma. I recently had to get a decadron shot to relieve congestion - 3 weeks ago. I did not take an antibiotic at the time. I just took Musinex DM for about a week. The crude as we call it in the area cleared up and I seemed to be fine until about 3 days ago. The shortness of breath has gotten worse in the past 2 days

Consult a physician and start antibiotics as the cough is productive and there might be probable infection.
You can also take antihistamines like Cetirizine also.
