What Causes Chronic Cough And Swelling In The Ankles?

I ve had a non productive cough since Jan. Sometimes I cough so hard I vomit. I can t even finish a sentence without coughing. I have swelling of my fingers, ankles and upper eye lids. I m 62 with a history of right bundle branch block and aortic root dilation. Could I have congestive heart failure? YYYY@YYYY

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for the query. I understand your concern.
Your history of having right bundle branch block & Aortic root dilatation
... with present complaints of dry , non productive cough/swelling on fingers & ankle are suggestive of impaired circulation due to heart problem.
I would advise for a consultation of your cardiologist for any needful investigations , pin pointing the diagnosis & specific treatment. This would control the problem.
Thanks
