What Causes Chronic Cough And Tickling Sensation In The Throat?

HI, I have a lingering cough that is very dry and caused by a tickle in my throat. My throat is sometimes a bit sore and my glands feel a tiny bit swollen, but the biggest complaint is the cough. It is very dry, but sometimes makes me gag/vomit because it seems like there is some post nasal drip/drainage, though I do not feel congested. I have been coughing enough that my head is sore and my eyes are a bit bloodshot.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello welcome to the health care magic

According to history provided it seems to be acute pharyngitis case

You can be prescribed cetrizine or phenylephrine like decongestant drug for five days

Take vitamin C lozenges for four times a day

Avoid excess spicy foods and fatty meals for few days

Drink more water

Take one tsp turmeric powder with hot milk daily

Investigate with CBC for your case

Mostly it will be viral pharyngitis and will be resolved in few days

If dry cough excess than dextromethorphan syrup can be prescribed

Take care

Hope your concern solved

Consult physician for examination and discuss all these
