Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Chronic Cough And Urinary Incontinence?
I had a bad cough that started a week ago. It is starting to go, but I was coughing so hard that I my bladder leaked when I coughed. I went see my doctor to make sure that there was no wheesing or any other reason for the cough other than the common cold. I was told that it needs to run its course, but my main concern now is that I am still leaking. I was told tath once the cough went away so would the leakage. Now any type of pressure makes my bladder leak. Will this continue?
You can continue treatment for your cough or common cold. The overexertion due to cough might be the reason for urinary leakage.
You can wait until your cough subside completely.
If still in few days your urinary leakage continues than urinary incontinence can be the possibility. For that urine routine microscopic examination and the flow study needed.
Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.

Dr. Parth Goswami,
