What Causes Chronic Cough Despite Taking Montelukast And Levothyroxine?
I HAVE BEEN PLAQUED WITH A CHRONIC COUGH FOR THE LAST COUPLE OF MONTHS. I have been to an ENT ,PULMANARY SPECIALIST, AN ALLERGIST AND MY PERSONAL PHY. No one has been able to find t he cause or a cure. I have had the following meds: metpclopramide hlc 1 before each meal & 1 at bedtime --montelukast sod 1 evenings --levothyroxine 1 mornings -benzonate 3 times daily. But I am still having coughing spells. What in the heck is going on with me ? Ms. Watties

Chronic cough is due to allergic thing.Just do one chest x-ray ray to rule out any possible abnormalities. Then if u r not feeling better with oral bronchodilator and antihistaminic u need to start with inhalation drugs.U can start Rotahaler or forocort 400mg twice a day for 15 days and make once for 2-3 months.Hope it may help u.
