What Causes Chronic Cough Post Gall Bladder Removal Surery?
Hi since having my Gallbladder out in august 2011 i have developed a cough. This has got worse and worse. I now cough every day sometimes resulting in being unable to breathe. I have had an Endoscopy which showed i have Gastritis and a Hiatus Hernia. Neither of these they said should of caused the cough. It is now ruining my life as it affects everything i do including my job. Have you any idea what could be causing this please?
In the meantime, avoid smoking, alcohol, spicy food, fatty food, carbonated drinks, oily food, fried food, rigorous exercise; drink plenty of water, lose weight if you are overweight and eat 5-6 small meals instead of 2-3 larger ones.
Best wishes.

What Causes Chronic Cough Post Gall Bladder Removal Surery?
Hello ans welcome. I would recommend a chest x-ray and a 24-hour acid monitoring which should provide us with your lung health and acid reflux score. I suspect this to be a condition called gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), but need confirmation for the same. In the meantime, avoid smoking, alcohol, spicy food, fatty food, carbonated drinks, oily food, fried food, rigorous exercise; drink plenty of water, lose weight if you are overweight and eat 5-6 small meals instead of 2-3 larger ones. Best wishes.
