What Causes Chronic Cough While On Blood Pressure Medication?

I need to be on blood pressure medicine I am taking lisinopril however I find myself coughing. I want to suggest to my Doctor to switch my Medicine. I want to suggest to my Doctor the Medicine with the least side effects. The things that are the most to me are 1. I like having a glass of win with dinner (I need a medicine that will allow me to do that). 2. I don t want to feel weak during the day. 3. I don t want the medicine to hamper my sexual activity. 4 I would like a medicine that can help me sleep better. Which Medicine will be the best for this?

Hi
Went through your post, you want to know the safe Medicine for Hypertension, Let me tell you the guidelines for treating Hypertension say the first line meds are ARB and ACE inhibitors both are protective for kidney disease, however the ACE inhibitors are known to cause cough.
Usually the first thing in management of high blood pressure is low salt diet fresh fruits and vegetables in diet and exercise at least a brisk walk for 40min 5 days a week.
If BP is Still high then meds are started.
