What Causes Chronic Cough With Pus Pockets At The Back Of The Throat?

Have a 10-11 year old child with chronic constant coughing. (even during sleep) White puss pockets at the back of the throat. Sneezing and some nasal drip although not the worst symptom she has. Vomiting just started tonight, although it was after eating and a coughing attack. Fever of 102. Doc gave her Amox. 10mg. 3 times a day. Just yesterday. Anyhow, fever has worsened as has her coughing, and again now adding vomiting. Ideas? btw, they took a swab test for strep throat other day. FYI: None of this is following surgery of any kind either.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Continue to take antibiotic treatment as advised by your doctor. Add vitamin C. Do gargling with backing soda to help the pus is removed. Take cough syrup, ambroxol is advisable.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
