What Causes Chronic Cough?

I ve had a bad cough for 2 weeks and I ve been coughing very hard to try and get the phlegm to come up. I think it s bronchitis, but I also spoke so that doesn t help. I just noticed the roof of my mouth now has what looks like broken blood vessels on it. is that bad?

Hi welcome to the health care magic

On posterior pharynx you are seeing prominent vessel, that is because of inflammation...
In inflammation vasodilation occurs and so you can see it

You are having pharyngitis or upper respiratory tract infection

You can be prescribed decongestant tablet like levocetrizine 5 mg OD for 5 days

Salt water gargle done with warm water three times a

Steam inhalation done three times a day

Take vitamin C lozenges

If no improvement than work up needed as follow..
_Auscultation
_CBC
_sputum examination
_chest x ray
